Numerical analysis II
A second course in numerical analysis, which prepares you for an independent work where, for example, you model and simulate a physical phenomenon.
The course proceeds with numerical analysis and introduces important basic concepts and how to work numerically with differential equations. Discretisation is particularly important and is used in two methods that are presented: the finite difference method and the finite element method.
The course consists of three elements; theory, practical exercises and project.
Teaching Format
Instruction is given in the form of lectures and exercises.
Assessment
The course is assessed through a written exam, and written and oral presentations of the practical exercises and project.
