Medical Ethics
The course provides an introduction to some of the most important issues in medical ethics – questions concerning decisions about life and death, the use of new technology, the obligations we have regarding the fair distribution of healthcare resources, the protection of vulnerable groups, and the promotion of public health. Many of the problems in medical ethics rest on different values and philosophical positions. In this course, participants will have the opportunity to reconstruct the main arguments for and against various standpoints and to explore their philosophical background.
