Computational Physics

The focus of this course is on the applications of numerical methods to physical problems across various sub-fields of physics. You will practice your ability to transform a physical problem into a suitable form for a numerical treatment and to analyze the calculated result. The course will further strengthen your ability to write efficient larger codes by using existing program libraries. The course is specifically targeted at students on the Master’s program in Computational Physics, but other students with adequate background can access it as well. This course is taught in English.
This is a second cycle course given at full speed during daytime. This course can also be taken as a third cycle course.
Teaching Format
The teaching and learning activities are lectures, seminars with hand-in problems/projects and oral presentations by the students.
Assessment
The examination consists of written hand-in assignments and oral presentations thereof.
Examiner
The literature consists of handouts from the teacher during the course.
