The course is about historical, cultual and social factors that explain the status of the French language in the world. It includes an overview of the Francophone Literature.

The course include three parts, the first one in culture and history, the second one in literature and the third one in sociolinguistics.


The teaching is done in French (lectures, seminars and exercises)


One written exam and 2-3 oral presentations

The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.


Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
