Japanese IV
It consolidates and further develops the ability to participate in discussions and debates and to make presentations in Japanese at an upper intermediate level. It also develops the ability to reference and analyse different types of texts, both non-fiction and fiction. The course also includes an introduction to the literary history of Japan.
The course consists of five modules.

1. Grammar IV, 2.5 credits (ECTS)
2. Text reading, Non-Fiction II, 5 credits (ECTS)
3. Text reading, Literary texts, 5 credits (ECTS)
4. Japanese literature, 5 credits (ECTS)
4. Practical language ability IV, 5 credits (ECTS)
Teaching Format
Lectures, seminars, group exercises and individual exercises.
Attendance at all classes is mandatory.

Assessment
The module Grammar IV, 2.5 credits, is examined through a digital home exam.
The module Text Reading: Non-Fiction, 5 credits, is examined through a digital home exam.
The module Text reading: Literary text is examined through 1-3 analysis assignments submitted via Athena.
The module Japanese Literature, 5 credits, is examined through a home exam.
The module Practical Language Skills IV, 5 credits is examined through 2-3 oral presentations and 2-3 written assignments as well as a written exam in the form of a take-home assignment.
