Korean III
The course consists of four modules.
Modules
1. Modern Standard Korean 5, 5 credits
The module consolidates and deepens further knowledge of Korean grammar. The teaching contains an extended theoretical description and practical exercises of Korean grammar with a focus on advanced sentence construction. The student deepens the ability in text reading and translation of simpler texts from and into Korean.
2. Modern Standard Korean 6, 5 credits
The module further strengthens and deepens the knowledge of Korean grammar. The teaching includes an extended theoretical description and practical practice of Korean grammar with a focus on forms of courtesy. The student deepens the ability in text reading and translation of simpler texts from and into Korean. The student also learns to read and write about 100 new Chinese characters (Hanja).
3. Hanja, 5 credits
The module provides basic knowledge of Sino-Korean, hanja. The student learns to read, write and explain the meaning of about 200 Chinese characters (hanja).
4. Practical language proficiency 3, 7.5 credits
The module is intended to provide the student with a basic ability to speak and understand everyday contexts in modern Korean society. The student also learns to write simpler texts in Korean.
Teaching Format
The teaching of the modules Modern Standard Korean 5 + 6 and Hanja takes place in the form of lectures and group exercises.
Teaching in Practical Language Proficiency 3 takes place in the form of lectures, group exercises and role-plays.
Attendance is mandatory.

Assessment
The modules Modern Standard Korean 5 and 6 and Hanja are examined through a hall exam or other supervised exam each.
The module Practical Language Proficiency 3 is examined through two oral tests and one oral presentation.
