Culture and Society in Contemporary South Korea

The course deals with the cultural and social changes that have taken place in South Korea, such as urbanization, industrialization and modernization, as well as the increased role of the middle class in political processes.

Based on knowledge of societal change, we also discuss how important parts of traditional Korean culture that remain unchanged or modified in contemporary South Korea.

 

The course consists of 7.5 credits and deals with South Korea's contemporary culture and society.
