International Law and the Global Economy

The purpose of the course International Law and the Global Economy is to give the students an understanding of the legal principles and mechanisms governing international economic law (IEcL), with an emphasis on trade law, investment law and financing law.

The course International Law and the Global Economy is given within the framework of the Master of Laws Programme in International Law at the Department of Law, Stockholm University.

Besides the legal principles and mechanisms governing international economic law (IEcL), with an emphasis on trade law, investment law and financing law is this course also treating international economic law from an economic and political perspective. This is set in the context of other areas of law, such as environmental law and human rights. The course begins with a short recap of public international law.

The learning objectives, activities, and examination criteria for the course are outlined in the syllabus. Teaching Format

Instruction is given in the form of lectures, seminars and practical exercises.


Assessment

Examination is conducted through active participation in seminars, through oral and written assignments, and through a written in-class examination.
