Chinese V

The course further consolidates and deepens the knowledge of modern standard Chinese (Putonghua) and exercises the ability to read texts as well as the ability to translate and analyze more complex and academic Chinese texts/specialized texts.

By practically applying their knowledge of China and deepening their skills in academic writing, the students are prepared both for the world of work and for continued academic activities.

The course consists of four modules.

Modules

Practical Language Proficiency V, 7.5 credits
This course module exercises the student's ability to, at a higher intermediate level, understand the content of selected audiovisual materials and texts for communicative purposes, orally and in writing account for and summarize this, as well as orally discuss and in writing present selected topics in different contexts with correct sentence structure and character order.

Extensive Text Reading, 7.5 credits
This course module consolidates and deepens the knowledge of the modern Chinese written language and exercises the ability to read texts. It includes text reading, text analysis, grammatical analysis, character knowledge, and presentation of specialized texts.
