Technical Art History II
Admission to the course requires that the student has been admitted to the International Master’s Programme in Art History: Technical Art History and the Art Museumand completed Technical Art History I, 15 credits
The course provides advanced knowledge of the implementation and analysis of multispectral studies, as well as the results of such studies on older art objects. The course provides advanced knowledge of the implementation of chemical-physical methods of analysis in a laboratory. In addition, the course provides advanced skills in identifying and implementing digital methods for the processing and technical art history analysis of multispectral images, as well as digital methods for archiving and publishing technical data and modelling virtual historical and contemporary exhibition spaces.
The course is provided in collaboration with the Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry and the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences.
Teaching Format
Instruction is given in the form of lectures, seminars and laboratory work. Attendance is mandatory.
Assessment
The course is examined on the basis of written assignments in the form of a take-home examination, laboratory work and a written paper.
