Scientific Communication and Research Methodology – distance

This course will introduce and provide practice of the basic problems in scientific communication and research methodology. 

These include:

  • finding research topics, research problems and specific research questions,
  • finding conflicting scientific literature,
  • reasoning and structuring an argument on different levels,
  • presentation techniques, 
  • quoting, referencing and paraphrasing Page 1 of 3,
  • data types, collecting data, data analysis,
  • quantitative methods and analyses and
  • qualitative methods and analyses.



Teaching Format

The teaching consists of an introductory lecture and supervision sessions.

The language of instruction is English.

The teaching activities are distance-based and take place online.


Assessment

The course is examined through assignments and remote written exam.

All examination tasks must be performed and submitted on time according to the schedule of the current course. A missed or incomplete examination can be re-submitted at a new scheduled time window.

Alternatively, the student will have to follow the schedule of the next course round.

Examiner


The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
