Design and information society
The course introduces the students to the question of how modern computing is affecting society, and how the development and use of computer programs intersect social, moral and ethical issues in contemporary society.
Upon successful completion of this course, the students will have reliably demonstrated the ability to: research, summarize how computing has changed society, account for and explain how intertwined computer programs in our daily lives have become, as well as reflect on how these programs are created.
Teaching Format
The teaching consists of lectures, teaching sessions, supervision and seminars.
Assessment
The course is examined as follows:
- written assignments
- individual essay
Examiner
The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course.
We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course,
your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
