Research methodology

The course aims to provide the student with knowledge and experience of research methodology in public health sciences.

The course includes: basic overview of ontology and epistemology relevant to the public health sciences; the use of the concept of causality in the public health sciences; and an overview of some common study designs in public health sciences and how these relate to different types of research questions.

The teaching will be based on lectures and seminars.

Assessment

The course is examined through an on-campus exam.

The examinations will be in English.

Date for examination will be published in the schedule no later than one month before the course starts. Dates for re-examinations will be published later. More information on examination will be published at the start of the course in Athena for registered students. Please also see the course plan.
