The Politics of Equality
The aim of the course is to offer the students an opportunity to critically scrutinize different conceptions of equality as well as the political implications of these conceptions.
The course is structured into three themes that cover one third of the course each: Democracy and equality; distribution and equality; and culture and equality. The main focus is on contemporary contributions to the debate on these themes, and particularly on the concrete policy implications of these contributions.
Teaching Format
The teaching consists of seminars.
Assessment
The course is examined by two take-home examinations.
The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course.
We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course,
your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
