Third Language Research and Language Education

In this course, we discuss third language research and what it means for the teaching of a third language.

We process, evaluate and compare third language research, central theories and a selection of empirical studies in the field. We address various factors that are considered relevant to third language learning, use and development, such as age, motivation, multilingualism and various contextual factors. We then problematize language teaching approaches in relation to these factors.

Once the course is in progress, the web-based learning platform Canvas will be used for communication, learning activities and course assignments.
