Language Education - Theory and Application

This is a course for you who want to improve your knowledge of language education.

The course addresses theoretical and methodological perspectives in language education research. Results and pedagogical implications of empirical studies in language education are discussed and problematized. The focus is on learning and teaching languages, as well as on language teacher and language learning cognitions about these issues.

Once the course is in progress, the web-based learning platform Athena will be used for communication, learning activities and course assignments.

The course is a distance course without required meetings.


Teaching Format

Instruction is given online in the form of lectures and seminars. The course also involves individual work and work in small groups.

The course is given in English.


Assessment

Examination for this course consists of written assignments.

Examiner

The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.


Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
