Agreement portal
To find out more information about the universities listed above, search in the agreement portal. In the agreement portal you can find information about each university. For example, you can find information about course restrictions, grade requirements or language requirements. Further, you will (in most cases) find information about how many seats are available.
To find the universities that you are interested in you need to filter under “program” in the agreement portal, be sure to read the blue information boxes in the agreement portal:
- Outside Europa, choose: ”Bilateral Student (uni-wide)”
- Within Europa, choose: ”Erasmus CIVIS Student”
- Within Norden, choose: ”Erasmus Nordlys Student”
Important when choosing universities
Make sure that the university you want to apply to offers courses that are relevant for your studies. Some universities have course restrictions. For example, many universities do not offer courses in law or business for exchange students.
Make sure that you meet all the requirements at the university/universities you are planning to apply for. Some universities have language requirements (ex. French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese).
Some universities also have strict grade requirements.
In the agreement portal you can find information about course restrictions, language requirements and grade requirements. Be sure to only apply to universities where to meet all the requirements.
Only apply for universities that you can consider going to. You can apply for up to 5 universities in one application. You can also apply for less than 5 universities.
For your first three choices you need to make a preliminary course proposal. The preliminary course proposal needs to be approved by your study counsellor/international coordinator/director of studies at your home department at SU.
If you are applying for exchange within Europe (CIVIS and/or Nordlys) your preliminary course proposal must consist of courses from one department/within one subject.
It is your home department at SU that decides what courses can be transferred within your programme when you return from your exchange.
If you want to study courses outside of your programme at SU, your preliminary course proposal must be approved by a degree officer (tillgodo@su.se).
Steg-by-step-application
See the steps for your application below.
Step 1: Choose university/universities to apply for
Follow the instructions above to choose university/universities that you wish to apply for.
Step 2: Prepare the mandatory document
When you have decided which university/universities you wish to apply for you have to fill out the mandatory document. In the document you need to answer the two questions and fill out your preliminary course proposal. You need to download and use the following document:
How to fill out the document:
- write your name
- write the name of your home department at SU
- answer the two mandatory questions
- fill out your preliminary course proposal for your first the choices. You must select courses equal to one semester of full time-studies. It is your responsibility to find courses that are relevant for you. An international coordinator at Student Services cannot guide you or approve your preliminary course proposal.
Step 3: Complete the online form
- The application is done via Mobility Online. Login via the link below and follow the instructions.
Link to application in Mobility Online - When you have completed the form, press ”send application”. You will receive an email. Follow the instructions in that email and confirm your personal details (mandatory).
Step 4: Complete your application
To complete your application you need to:
- Confirm your personal details according to the instructions in the email (see above Step 3)
- Press ”Back to general overview” and upload the mandatory document ”Template for personal letter and preliminary course proposal” in word format (see above Step 2)
- When you have uploaded the document, press “click to confirm and submit”
- You will now receive a confirmation email
Step 5: Wait for a decision
When the deadline has passed all applications will be processed. This will take approx. 2-4 weeks.
In exceptional cases, you may be contacted with respect to your application.
Notification of results will be sent to the email address in your application in Mobility Online.
You will receive a notification regardless of whether you receive a seat or not. The notification will be sent from studentutbyte@su.se.
Step 6: If you are offered an exchange seat
If you are offered an exchange seat you will receive an email with instructions on how to accept or decline that seat in Mobility Online.
We do not accept answers via email.
Carefully consider your answer as a declined seat may go to another student.
Step 7: If you accept your offer
When you have accepted your offer you don’t need to do anything. You will be contacted by an international officer from Stockholm University for further information about the process. Note that this can take several months.
Here is some practical information:
Step 8: If you decline an offer
You will only receive one offer for an exchange seat. If you decline that offer you will not receive an offer for any of your other choices.
For this reason, carefully think through your answer.
You may apply again in the next application round.
Step 9: If you are not offered an exchange seat
If you are not offered an exchange seat in the first selection round you will receive information about applying for remaining places.
This information will be sent to the email address in your application in Mobility Online.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the ranking of the universities in my application?
After the deadline for the application, you cannot change anything.
Do I need to provide a language test score in this application?
You should not provide a language test score in this application. If you are nominated for a university that requires that, you can do a test at a later stage.
What if I am not accepted at the university?
There is always a risk that you are not accepted by the university that your have been nominated to. When this happens, it is usually because the student has not done her/his research and does not fulfil requirements such as grades or language. For this reason it is vert important that you do your research before applying.
If I am not nominated in this application round, can I apply again?
Yes, you can apply as many times as you want!
I was offered an exchange seat but I declined, can I apply again in the next application round?
Yes you can.
I was offered an exchange seat and declined, can I change my mind?
Only if the deadline for the offer has not passed.
I missed the ordinary application round, will there be an application round for the remaining seats?
Unfortunately no, we don’t have any open applications for remaining sets.
