Download and install
To download, click here for SAS and here for JMP. In this folder, choose your platform and click on the corresponding folder. Finally, click on the ZIP file to download the installation file. The download will begin. It is a large file so this will take a while.
Open the downloaded file (if a query pops up asking if it is ok to open the file, click on OK). Choose a folder where the zipped file can be unzipped. Run the program as follows:
Windows: Double-click on "setup.exe"
Linux: Double-click on "setup.sh"
Mac: Mount the .dmg file and launch the installation file (note that this is for JMP only, as SAS is not available for Mac).
The installation will begin - this will take a while.
Verify the installation by checking that the program starts normally. The exact details of what you need to do depends on the platform you are using. If the program does not start, re-install the software in accordance with the above. If you were unable to find the file, you can repeat the download process as above.
Renewing the license
The installed program has full functionality up until 30 maj, the annual renewal date. This means that your software license must be renewed by 31 maj. You will notice this when you are asked to enter a new license file (SID file). If the license file is not renewed by the annual date, the program will continue to function for a further 30 days, but with a message that the license file needs to be renewed.
In order to renew, a new license file must be installed (also known as a SID file - SAS Installation Data File).
Download the license file: Download an up-to-date license file for SAS here and JMP here. In this folder, choose your platform and click on the corresponding folder. Finally, right-click on the .txt file and select Save link as..., and save the file on your desktop.
Install the license file - JMP
- Start JMP
- If the license has expired, you will receive a message about this.
- Click on Open License.
- Find the license file you saved on your desktop (under Download license file)
- Select Open > OK
Install the license file - SAS
- Quit the SAS program
- Select Start > All programs > SAS > Utilities > Renew SAS Software
- Right-click on Renew SAS Software and select Run as Administrator. If you receive a query pop-up, click on Allow.
- Find the license file you saved on your Desktop (under Downlad license file) > click on Next.
- Verify the platform and SAS program > click on OK.
- Click on Renew. If everything goes well, you will receive the message: The setinit was successfully applied.
Uninstalling the program
Once you have completed your studies, you must uninstall the program. The exact details of what you need to do depends on the platform you are using.
