Cancelled call for applications regarding some exchange placements autumn 2021
Due to numerous cancellations of exchanges, or other pandemic related reasons why they could not take place, during 2020 and in some cases also for spring 2021, no new exchange places will be announced for the autumn 2021.
Student Services has decided not to call for new exchange applications through university-wide bilateral exchange agreements for exchanges taking place during the autumn semester 2021 because of the numerous previous cancellations. If possible and with regard to regulations at Stockholm University and at the partner universities a late call for applications might take place during early 2021, in cases where there are still exchange places available.
This decision only affects the university-wide bilateral agreements. Exchanges through CIVIS, Nordlys and North2North will take place as planned, if nothing unforeseen happens.
Many students have had their exchanges cancelled during spring and autumn 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This has especially affected students that had exchange placements through university-wide bilateral exchange agreements that takes place outside of Europe. The students have been offered to postpone their exchanges to the spring semester 2021 or autumn semester 2021. Some partner universities have also notified that they have cancelled exchanges for the spring semester 2021 and more cancelations are to be expected.
By cancelling the call for applications in terms of new exchange placements for the autumn semester 2021 the exchange placements can instead be used for the students that are affected by the previous cancellations during 2020 and spring 2021.
If possible and with regard to regulations at Stockholm University and at the partner universities a late call for applications might take place during early 2021, in cases where there are still exchange places available.
