Exchange studies are perfect for those students who wish to explore the world during their studies. On this page, you will find what options there are for studying abroad and how to apply.
Students at Stockholm University can apply for studying abroad for a shorter or longer period of time.
What is exchange studies?
A student exchange means that two universities exchange students between them, thus you are not required to pay any tuition fees for your studies. You are able to apply for either one or two semesters, for a summer course, or for a short mobility period including a virtual component (BIP).
There is a possibility to receive a scholarship if you conduct your exchange studies within the programmes Erasmus+, Nordplus, or north2north.
Stockholm University offers student exchanges on two different levels, departmental level and central/university-wide level. Please note that the application processes differ between the two.
The Student services regularily offers information sessions about studying abroad, and you can ask all your questions during the digital drop in. We are also available on campus and through online meetings during the application period:

Departmental agreements and networks
Many departments at Stockholm University have their own exchange agreements with universities around the world. These agreements are usually subject specific and aimed at students studying at the specific department.
