Nanyang Technological University was founded in 1981 and has since grown to become one of the most prestigious universities in Asia. How to apply

Your application should include the following:

  • Completed application form.
  • A personal letter in English describing who you are and why you want to go on exchange.
  • A letter of recommendation from a person at your home institution who can describe why you are a suitable representative for Stockholm University, both personally and academically.

Call for applications

For exchange studies in the fall semester of 2024 or the academic year of 2024/2025, send your application by February 15, 2024 at 23:59. All relevant documents will be filed.

 

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to apply, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be registered as a student at Stockholm University in natural sciences.
  • Have at least 15 credits from Stockholm University documented in Ladok by the application deadline. Credits recognized from another institution are not included.
  • Have studied for at least one year before departure.
  • Be able to have your credits recognized after the exchange. You should agree with the exchange coordinator (or equivalent) at your institution on a preliminary selection of courses that can be credited before applying.
  • Intend to obtain a degree from Stockholm University.
     
 

Selection criteria

The applications are assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Complete application. In the first instance, students who have submitted a complete application on time are nominated. Incomplete application documents and/or supplements are handled if there is space.
  • Previous exchange studies. Students who have not participated in exchange studies at Stockholm University before have priority. You cannot be nominated to an institution where you have previously been an exchange student.
  • Suitability. We assess your suitability as an ambassador for Stockholm University and your ability to adapt to the foreign environment based on your personal letter and letter of recommendation.
  • Study results. We look at the number of completed credits in the last two years in relation to the number of credits the student has been registered for. If the previous criteria are not sufficient to make a selection, we also look at grades for courses in natural sciences.
