Orientation Day consists of three parts, Orientation Day presentations, Speed friending and Welcome Fair.

Live broadcast

If you are unable to attend in person, or want your friends and family back home to see what one of your first days at Stockholm University is like, Orientation Day can be followed remotely as it is broadcast live.

 


Welcome Fair 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Among the 48 exhibitors you will find student associations and the university's organisations explaining the services they provide to students and how student life works on campus.

Speed-friending 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Inside the Aula Magna a Speed friending event will take place for you to break the ice and start making new Swedish and international friends!

Orientation Day presentations 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

Join us for an afternoon packed with useful presentations for new international students at Stockholm University.

  • Welcome to Stockholm University
    Vice President Clas Hättestrand welcomes you to the university.
     
  • Presentation of Stockholm University
    The International Office presents the university and interacts with you from the stage.
     
  • Swedish language courses
    The Department of Swedish Languages and Multilingualism presents the Swedish courses offered to all international students.
     
  • Stockholm University Student Union
    Learn about the international coordinators' active work for student rights and student life.
     
  • Stockholm University Library and the Academic Writing Service
    Discover the services you can access regarding course literature and studies in a language that is not your mother tongue.
     
  • Practical information for your everyday life
    Our staff will give you all necessary tips regarding the Swedish academic system, student healthcare, IT services, sports associations, and safety and security at the university.
     
  • Student pubs 6:30 pm
    Stockholm University's different student associations invite you to their premises on campus. The admission is free and the price of food and non-alcoholic drinks is adapted to the students' budget.
