Housing application – tuition fee-paying students

As an international student at Stockholm University, paying tuition fees, you are eligible for accommodation from Housing Office. Master students receiving a scholarship from Stockholm University Scholarship Scheme or from the Swedish Institute are also prioritized.

Use the online application form to apply for housing. Follow the instructions carefully until your application is completed and confirmed.

Apply for accommodation

Accommodation offers

If you are eligible and submit your application before the deadline, you will be contacted by the Housing Office via email regarding whether you have received an accommodation offer.

Please note that the booking process involves several steps and may be affected by last-minute cancellations. This means it can take up to two to three months or longer before all applicants are informed about the status of their application.

When applying, you can indicate your preferred housing areas, but it is not possible to choose a specific room. There is also no guarantee that an offer will match your preferences. You may add further wishes—such as a room on or not on the ground floor—under “Additional information” in the application form.


If you receive an accommodation offer

The offer will be sent via email and includes a housing contract with all the necessary information about your accommodation and rent payments.

  • Read the contract carefully before accepting the offer.
  • You have a limited time to respond, so check your email frequently.
  • Only one offer is made – no second offers will be sent.
 

Rental period

Student accommodation is rented per semester, and rent is charged accordingly.
Please note that the arrival and departure dates stated in the housing contract are fixed and cannot be changed.

Saturday 23 August 2025–Friday 16 January 2026

Spring semester 2026

The rental period will be announced at a later date.

  • The application period opens: 15 May at 12:00 noon (Central European Time)
  • The application period closes: 29 May at 12:00 noon (Central European Time).

Note: Applications submitted after the application period will not be given priority.

Spring semester 2026

The application period will be announced at a later date.
