Kräftriket (Hovbeslag)

Hovbeslag accommodation area is located within walking distance from Stockholm University Campus Frescati. Here we rent out a total of 3 rooms in a shared accommodation. It is not possible to choose who to share the accommodation with.

Hovbeslag (the Ferrier’s House) is located in the campus area called Kräftriket near Lake Brunnsviken, a 10 minute walk to Campus Frescati. Kräftriket is an area with older historical buildings and have a rich academic background. Hovbeslag is a large three story house with fourteen apartments for international guest researchers, PhD students and exchange students. The house was built in 1911 and it is owned by Akademiska Hus. It has been carefully renovated to preserve the historical interior architecture and is classified by the state as having high cultural value. Due to this, all tenants who stay here are required to accept some very specific rules that are in place to preserve the historical interior architecture. These rules are specified on your rent contract.

For exchange students the available option at Hovbelsag is a shared accommodation with 3 rooms. It is not possible to choose who to share the accommodation with.

All accommodations at Hovbeslag are located on the ground floor. The studio apartment for wheelchair users is reserved for students who require this type of accommodation (this requirement can be expressed when filling in the housing application form).

The rooms at Hovbeslag are only for single occupancy and are only available for exchange students. A specific room cannot be chosen (unless for wheelchair users). However, some preferences - as for example a smaller room (cheaper rent) or a bigger room – can be expressed under "additional information" in the application form. There is, though, no guarantee that such requests will be accommodated.

All corridor rooms are furnished with a bed, a mattress, a desk and a chair. Some rooms may have curtains, blinds or extra lamps and chairs which were left by previous tenants.  However, these are not provided by the Housing Office and cannot be guaranteed. You must buy/bring your own quilt, pillow, sheets and towels. Most rooms have a 200×90 cm bed, some may have a bigger size bed. We recommend that you buy the bedding set after you move in.

The shared kitchen is equipped with refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and a stove (with oven and hot plates). Cooking utensils and dinnerware are not provided by the Housing Office, so you may have to purchase these items if not left by previous tenants.

All accommodations are rented out on a semester basis and charged accordingly.

The rent for one semester is approximately between SEK 34 000 and 40 000 SEK and it includes heating, cold water, hot water, electricity and internet (not Wi-Fi). Excessive use of electricity will be charged extra.

The rent is paid in two installments. The first 20% of the rent together with the deposit is due straight after receiving the accommodation offer and is required in order to confirm the housing contract. A second payment consisting of the remaining 80% is due in the middle of the semester.

In case of contract's extension for a second semester, a new rental payment of 20% of the rent is due before the new semester and the remaining 80% is due in the middle of the new semester.

Wi-Fi is included in all apartments at Hovbeslag. Each apartment has a router with information about the name of the network and the password.

The key set consists of one key which works for your apartment door and the main entrance, a small key for the postbox and another small key for the laundry booking cylinder.
