Housing for international students
This page is for international students who are exchange students, fee-paying students or scholarship holders. If you’re studying for at least one semester, you may be eligible to apply for housing.
University housing includes a range of furnished options, from private rooms with shared facilities to family apartments, all located in or near central Stockholm.
Who is eligible to apply
Only certain international students are eligible for university housing, based on a government regulation. Accommodation may be offered to
- exchange students studying for at least one semester
- tuition fee-paying students studying for at least one semester
- students with a Stockholm University Scholarship or a Swedish Institute Scholarship, studying for at least one semester
- exchange doctoral students staying for at least one semester.

Opens: 15 October 2025 at 12.00 noon (Central European Time)
Closes: 29 October 2025 at 12.00 noon (Central European Time)
Rental period for spring semester 2026
Sunday 18 January 2026–Monday 8 June 2026
