Housing for international students
Exchange students and tuition fee-paying students are welcome to apply for university housing. We offer a range of housing options, from affordable corridor rooms to family apartments.
Only certain international students are eligible for housing. A government decision allows universities in Sweden to offer accommodation to
- international exchange students who study for at least one semester
- tuition-paying students who study for at least one semester
- exchange doctoral students who study for at least one semester.
There is no housing guarantee for those who apply. Due to a shortage of housing in Stockholm, we can only offer accommodations to a limited number of students.
Currently, master students who receive a scholarship from the Stockholm University Scholarship Scheme and exchange students are priority groups. Due to the high demand for housing from these groups, we are usually not able to offer housing to other fee-paying students. We recommend that all students read our advice for finding housing on their own.
