Sporting activities on campus

Sports and exercise is not only beneficial to your health but can also have a positive effect on your study results. As a student at Stockholm University you have a wide range of sporting activities to choose from.

Yoga, football, martial arts, dance, gymnastics or tennis? What type of training suits you? At Frescatihallen and Frescati Sports Center on campus Frescati you can take part in many different classes and sporting activities, most of them organised by Stockholms Studenters Idrottsförening (SSIF).

A wide range of sporting activities

SSIF is a sports association for Stockholm students that was founded already in the 1930’s. For many years the association has been open to everyone aged 18 and above, but the main target group has always been students.
SSIF offers memberhip cards that include instructor led training in more than 30 different types of sporting activities. There is a weekly class schedule including gymnastics, Les Mills, badminton, basketball, table tennis, dance, football, fencing, floorball, kick boxing, skating, cross-country skiing, running, diving, swimming, tennis, volleyball and yoga. The prices for membership are especially beneficial for SU students.

Frescatihallen is a sports hall of about 6,250 square meters with multiple options for physical activity. It is based on campus Frescati, about one minute's walk from the metro station Universitetet and the bus stop Universitetet Norra. The activities on offer are mainly aimed at students and staff of Stockholm University but businesses, organisations and the general public are also welcome.

At Frescati Sports Center in Frescatihallen you can book courts for badminton, floorball etc. There is a parking lot in front of the building.

Free drop-in for SUS members

Members of Stockholm University Student Union (SUS) can book courts free of charge during drop-in hours. This is done at the Frescati Sports Center reception. You can find more information on the SUS website.
