The student exchange aims to provide students from Sweden and developing countries with a good undergraduate education, international experience and an understanding of other cultures.

The exchange concerns full-time studies in courses relating to regular university education and should comprise one to two semesters of studies. Credits completed during the exchange should be transferred when the student returns. Students must have completed at least one year of university studies before going on an exchange.

Students in the Linneaus-Palme programme will receive a grant. This grant does not affect student aid from CSN.

The programme is decentralised, and students should apply for the grant through the departments that have been awarded grants by the Swedish Council for Higher Education. Each department has its own application forms and instructions on how to apply.
