Writing groups

In a writing group you can discuss the challenges of academic writing, give and receive feedback on written work and write with other students. The aim of the group is to help you improve the quality of your writing.

The writing group is the most useful thing that happened at SU. Precious time during my first term in Sweden.

A writing group is a weekly meeting where you can share tips on writing with other students, get feedback on your work and write together. For groups hosted by the Academic Writing Service, a writing consultant is present to help structure the meetings and provide advice. Participation is open to all students at Stockholm University.

Students from Stockholm University are also welcome to request support for starting their own writing groups.

The Academic Writing Service hosts a new writing group each semester for students studying in master's programmes or writing theses (at any level). Information on our current group can be found below.

For the spring semseter 2026, we are helping students to start new groups on request. If you are interested in starting or joining a group, please write to writingservice@su.se

If you want to start your own writing group with classmates or friends, the Academic Writing Service can help you with advice on how to organise meetings and give feedback. To get support for starting your own writing group, click on the link below.
