Contact

To check your eligibility or if you have any other questions regarding open access publications, please contact the library at openaccess@su.se

In order to benefit from centrally funded and discounted APCs:

  • Corresponding author must be affiliated with Stockholm University.
(The person who handles the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process)
  • Always use your SU email address (ending with “su.se”) at any stage of the publishing process. This to ensure the identification of SU authors and eligible articles.

Publications in full open access journals

A full open access journal (also called “gold open access journal” or “pure open access journal”) is a journal where all articles are open access immediately on publication. APCs for publications by SU correspodning authors in full open access journals are covered by the library.

With a number of open access journals, you will not be charged the APC or receive an invoice when your article is accepted for publication. Due to the library’s agreements with specific publishers, invoices for articles with an SU corresponding author will be sent directly to the library.

For all other open access journals, you need to contact openaccess@su.se to arrange for the library to pay the APC.

For full open access journals the following applies:

  • To be eligible for central funding, the journal should be listed in the
DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)
  • Please note that you must not pay any charges before contacting us at openaccess@su.se. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse credit card charges or invoices already paid.

For details per publisher, please see the table below.

Publications in hybrid journals

A hybrid journal is a subscription-based journal where individual articles may be open access with an APC. All other articles are locked behind a paywall.

Centrally funded APCs for hybrid journals are available with specific publishers with which the library has an agreement that includes the open access costs. With some publishers, SU corresponding authors are eligible to a discounted APC, but it is the author or the department that pays the fee.

For details per publisher, please see the table below.

Overview per publisher

The table below provides an overview of Stockholm University wide agreements by which APCs are centrally funded or reduced. Please click on the publisher name for more information on what applies to this particular publisher and what you as an SU author need to do in order to benefit from the agreement.
