The agreement is valid from 1 January 2020

Please note that the agreement applies to articles submitted from 1 January 2020 and onwards. Articles submitted during 2019, accepted for publication in 2020 are not included.

How do I proceed as a corresponding author?

Upon acceptance of an article, the corresponding author receives an email with a link to complete Elsevier’s publishing forms. By entering your affiliation with Stockholm University, the publisher will identify you as an author qualified to publish open access within the agreement.

The library will then approve to fund the APC and the article will be published open access at no cost to you. (Please note that other charges such as color figures or offprints are not covered by the agreement.)

What’s included?

The agreement includes unlimited open access publishing, free of charge, in both hybrid journals* and fully open access journals:

*Subscription based journals where individual articles may be open access with an APC.

About the Agreement

The agreement is a national so-called “Read & Publish” agreement. The APCs are already prepaid, since the agreement includes both the costs of the library's subscriptions as well as the costs of open access publishing. The agreement was negotiated by The National Library of Sweden and in addition to Stockholm University, about 40 other Swedish research institutes have chosen to participate in the agreement.
