How do I proceed as a corresponding author?

In addition to stating your affiliation with Stockholm University, it is important that you use your SU email address when submitting a manuscript to one of IOP’s journals. This way IOP will automatically identify articles that potentially qualifies for open access publishing within the agreement between the library and IOP.

On acceptance, the library will be notified and asked to verify your affiliation and cover the APC. The article will be immediately open access at the time of publication.

What's included?

Open access publishing, free of charge, for all primary research article types: Letters, Papers and Special Issue articles (Review articles are not included) in:

  • All IOP and selected partner subscription titles that offer a hybrid open access option and all IOP fully open access journals. A full list of these journals is available here:
IOP Journals 2020 (xlsx) (14 Kb)

About the agreement

The agreement is a national so called “Offsetting” agreement. IOP will offset the bulk of the article processing charges of qualifying articles against the library’s journal subscription fees the following year. The agreement was negotiated by the National Library and in addition to Stockholm University, 13 other Swedish research institutes have joined.

Centrally funded APCs for publications in IOP fully open access journals are not included in the national agreement. This applies to researchers at Stockholm University only.
