On this day, 26 November 2021, the Masters Conferment had been divided into two ceremonies, one for the masters of the Faculty of Social Sciences and one for the recent graduates of the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Science.

Vice-Chancellor Clas Hättestrand congratulated on the degree and pointed out in his welcome speech that this university degree is an important milestone in the lives of all new graduates but also for the university.

An important task for universities and university colleges is to collaborate and to ensure that knowledge is disseminated and useful in society. Everyone who has graduated here is the most important and foremost carrier of knowledge from the University.

In his speech, Vice President of Stockholm University's Student Union, Simon Froster Delbom, highlighted some of all the challenges that students have had to overcome during their studies: Student housing crisis, finances and studies during a pandemic.

Meanwhile exams have been passed, theses defended and degrees taken. An impressive effort!

The faculties' congratulations and best wishes for the future were given by the conferrers, i.e. the people appointed by each faculty to award the diplomas to promovendi: Jessika van der Sluijs, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Stefan Helgesson, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Yvonne Svanström, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Lena Mäler, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science.

Alumni coordinator Erica Öjermark Strzelecka began the closing speech by stating that students who graduated during the pandemic are not just any students and that future employers will realize this. She also urged all new graduates to keep in touch with the university, follow their curiosity and remember:

The most important thing is not only what you learned during your studies, but the skills you have acquired along the way.

The ceremonies were gilded with music by a brass sextet from The Royal Academy of Music and song of the Stockholm University Choir.
