Astrid Söderbergh Widding new Executive Director of research foundations
Astrid Söderbergh Widding will take up her position as Executive Director of Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation (MMW) and Marcus and Amalia Wallenberg Foundation (MAW) on 1 July 1 2025. Together MMW and MAW are one of the largest private funders of research in the areas of social sciences and humanities and they annually distribute approximately SEK 500 million.

Astrid Söderbergh Widding, President of Stockholm University 2013–2025, succeeds Ingrid Sundström as head of MMW and MAW. Ingrid Sundström will remain as a senior advisor and Executive Director in a number of the other Wallenberg Foundations.
