Stockholm University top 50 in the world in four subjects
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by Subject 2025 places Stockholm University in the global top 50 in four subjects, and number one in Sweden in four subjects. The highest ranked subject is Environmental Science & engineering where Stockholm University is ranked 18 in the world.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities – sometimes called the Shanghai Ranking – is published by the independent organization Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) contains rankings of universities in 55 subjects across Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences.
Four subjects ranked within the top 50
