Canvas is coming this autumn!
This autumn, we are changing our learning platform from Athena to Canvas. All courses starting from the autumn semester will be delivered in Canvas, and as a student you will be able to log in to Canvas using your university account from August.
From the autumn semester 2026 (HT26), Stockholm University will use Canvas as its new learning platform. After the summer, no new courses will be started in Athena. All courses that begin during the autumn semester 2026 will be given in Canvas. Courses that started during the spring semester 2026 (VT26) and summer courses can be completed in Athena during the autumn (this does not apply to programmes).
You can log in to canvas.su.se using your university account from August. Courses will only become visible once you are registered and the teacher has published the course ahead of the start of the semester on 31 August.
Athena will remain available throughout 2026 and will then be gradually phased out. If you wish to keep course material, assignments or theses from Athena, you must save them before the end of 2026.
