Apply for a short-term exchange by 31 October

On 1 October, applications for more than 40 Blended Intensive Programmes, BIPs, open. All students in the CIVIS university alliance, where Stockholm University is a member, are welcome to apply by 31 October.

Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) is a format of Erasmus mobility that gives students the chance to study abroad without committing to a whole term.

These are some of the main characteristics of a BIP:

  • the course entails a virtual part and a shorter physical part (usually five days)
  • the total extent of the course is 3-6 ECTS
  • the course is free of charge for CIVIS students (with some exceptions for fee-paying students)
  • the course provides, through the Erasmus programme, the opportunity to apply for an Erasmus grant for the physical part of the course (application at the home university).

Each BIP is developed, organised and taught by academics at three or more CIVIS member universities. The programmes are often transdisciplinary and they are always developed to respond to one of the five CIVIS challenges:

  • Health
  • Cities, Territories and Mobility
  • Climate, Environment, Energy
  • Digital and Technological Transformations
  • Societies, Culture and Heritage
