Belén Martín-Matute elected new member of KVA

Belén Martín-Matute, professor in organic chemistry at Stockholm University, has been elected new member of the Royal Academy of Science’s (KVA)Class for Chemistry.

The focus of Belén Martín-Matute's research is creating bonds between atoms, in this case carbon-carbon and carbon heteroatom bonds, which are used in the production of pharmaceutical substances and agricultural chemicals.
At Stockholm University she is involved in teaching on the Master’s Program in Organic Chemistry as well as a researcher. Her research as well as her methods are recognized worldwide, and she collaborate extensively in both academia and industry.
