Exercise caution on campus

In accordance with the Swedish government’s announcements on 10 January, the University urges all staff and students to exercise caution to avoid the spread of infection on campus.

Teaching and examination can, in accordance with the University President’s decision of 22 December, continue to be given mostly on campus, but with online components where justified in order to reduce congestion on the University’s premises. (The decision may be found here, in Swedish.)

Departments have different pre-requisites for teaching, and it therefore remains up to each individual department to decide what elements should be conducted online. However, the University would like to encourage departments to:

Firstly, prioritize elements where the pedagogical value of on-site teaching is considered great, such as laboratory work, excursions, etc.

Secondly, in accordance with government advice, plan for more examination opportunities than usual, for example, when it comes to written exams. Whilst we encourage students to abstain from exams on account of even the smallest symptoms of illness, we should also offer more opportunities to retake exams. Examination Services has taken a number of actions to make written exams as safe as possible. (These may be found here, in Swedish.)
