On October 9, the City of Stockholm invited international students to be welcomed at the City Hall. 200 international students participated from Stockholm University and had the opportunity to be welcomed, get to know new acquaintances and the City of Stockholm.

“It feels great! It´s such a beautiful day and place with all the lights coming in”, said Emma Bone, student at Karolinska Institute.

This is an event that takes place once a year and is very much appreciated. The City of Stockholm arranges the event to highlight the value of education and the value of the knowledge that international students bring to the City of Stockholm and out into the world.

Several international students agreed that it was a great day and special place to start their studies.

“It´s a nice initiative, in a different country and it feels nice to be surrounded by people that are in the same boat. It´s a great thing and event for all the international students, from the Swedish government and the City of Stockholm”, said Francesca Bruni, student at Karolinska Institute.

The City of Stockholm organizes the reception and Stockholm University attends in collaboration with the Stockholm Academic Forum, which represents 18 colleges and universities in Stockholm.
