New web portal for student health

The government has commissioned the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR), Stockholm University and Linköping University to create studenthälsa.se – a national, joint web portal for student health.

The portal was launched on 15 January and gathers everything related to student health in one place.

Studenthälsa.se will serve as a complement to and relief for student health units at higher education institutions around the country, by providing advice and tips on self-help for students. The portal will contain facts, exercises and interviews with students and experts in student health to help Sweden’s students improve their well-being. They will also find contact information for, and events put on by, their local student health unit at their university or college.

Through the site, student health co-workers around the country will also be able to access a logged-in area to share experiences and materials and discuss student health with colleagues from other higher education institutions – an opportunity for skills development and exchange.

The aim is to strengthen the work of the student health care system in promoting the mental and physical health of students, thereby increasing their chances of a good and safe period of study.
