Online conferment attracted many
About 210 people celebrated their master's degree last Friday. Stockholm University would like to once again congratulate everyone on their degree. We are happy that you have chosen to study with us.
While the early summer sun was shining outside, the online Master's Conferment was broadcast live from inside Aula Magna on Friday, June 4. Approximately 210 people with a degree at the advanced level chose to celebrate their degree. Under normal circumstances, the auditorium had been full of participants and their guests, up to 1,200 people. This Friday afternoon, however, the auditorium was almost empty, only speakers, musicians and participating technicians and staff were present.
Instead of handing out diplomas on stage, the highlight of the ceremonies were when the student marshals Fanny Johnson and Emilia Nygård presented all new graduates with names and their own submitted photographs.
Speeches were given by Vice-President Clas Hättestrand, Stockholm University Student Union Chair Sofia Holmdahl, the Dean of the Faculty of Law Jessika van der Sluijs, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Barbro Blehr, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Jonas Häckner and Section Dean of the Faculty of Science Martin Jakobsson.
Entertainment was given by The Stockholm University Choir (pre-recorded), a brass quintet from The Royal Academy of Music and a marimba duo, also from The Royal Academy of Music. The university student associations and the university's alumni team contributed with happy video greetings.
Stockholm University would like to once again congratulate everyone on their graduation! We are glad that you have chosen to study with us.
