Stockholm University ranks 148 in the QS ranking

Stockholm University is ranked on place 148 in this year’s edition of QS World University Rankings, which was presented on 8 June.

The ranking is better than last year’s ranking at 181, Stockholm University has thus risen 33 steps in this year’s ranking.
Among Swedish higher education institutions, Stockholm University is in fifth place and Lund University is in first place.
The QS World University Rankings is considered to be one of the most important rankings of universities in the world. This year’s edition of the QS ranking includes 1,300 universities and the ranking is based on various indicators such as academic reputation, citations per faculty, reputation among employees and the proportion of international students.
It is primarily within the indicators citations and reputation among employees that Stockholm University has improved, but also in terms of the proportion of international students.
The QS Rankings is published annually by British Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The ranking is based on various indicators where academic reputation weighs the most. Other indicators are reputation among employees, citations per faculty, number of teachers in relation to students, proportion of international students and proportion of international researchers.
The list is topped this year by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) followed by University of Oxford and Stanford University.
