Stockholm University ranks 90 in the world 2022 according to ARWU
Stockholm University is ranked 90 in the 2022 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking, placing the university third in Sweden.
This year’s ranking list is topped by three American universities: Harvard, Stanford and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Karolinska Institutet is ranked first among Swedish universities, at place 41. Uppsala University is ranked second at place 89 and Stockholm University third in Sweden at place 90.
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), better known as Shanghai Ranking, measures the quality of research, including indicators such as the number of alumni and employed researchers who have won Nobel Prizes, the number of “highly cited” researchers and the number of articles published in the journals Nature and Science.
