Nobel Calling 2023
Stockholm University organizes activities connected to the Nobel Prize in collaboration with the Nobel Prize Museum. This year you can, among other things, visit the lab studying ancient DNA and listen to researchers talking about AI and science, the prize in literature and mammoths.
Nobel Calling – open events in the spirit of Nobel
At the beginning of October, the eyes of the world are directed towards Stockholm when this year's Nobel laureates is announced. During Nobel Calling, you meet researchers, Nobel laureates, academy members and many more when the Nobel Prize Museum together with Stockholm University and other actors organize activities. During the 2023 Nobel Calling, Stockholm University offers open lectures, panel discussions, lab visits and a competition in social media.

Visit the lab mapping ancient DNA
Visit one of the world's leading labs that works with ancient DNA from, among other things, humans and mammoths.
Dates: Monday 2 October and Wednesday 4 October

Panel discussion: Can AI be awarded the Nobel Prize?
How does AI influence future research and science? Welcome to an open conversation at the Nobel Prize Museum where researchers discuss the issue from different angles. Participating from Stockholm University is Åsa Wikforss, professor of theoretical philosophy and member of the Swedish Academy.

What DNA can reveal about the mammoth's history
Lecture with Professor Love Dalén from the Centre for Palaeogenetics on studies of ancient DNA. Dalén's research group is internationally leading in research on prehistoric DNA from wild animals, and was the first in the world to analyze DNA that is more than a million years old.
