About me

I am an artist and research fellow at the Department of Computer & Systems Sciences at Stockholm University with participatory methodologies and collaborative processes online as research interest.

The common thread of my research so far has been a critique of the norms and values embedded in the systems and aesthetics of communication design and to develop design that accommodates differences and conflict. In my research practice I combine a critical perspective with applied design research, where the design process can be seen as a method to explore social processes in detail rather than solving a specific problem.

Currently I am looking at how social validation processes and relations can be made transparent in different types of data feeds and thus contribute to a better understanding of participatory decision processes. With this perspective I am contributing to three different research projects:

Visualizing Patterns of Bias in Networked Publics, which is a two year postdoc research project financed by the Anna Ahlströms & Ellen Terserus foundation.

Security, privacy, and open data: Conflicts, opportunities and tools for understanding, which is about the tension between individuals’ privacy and society’s need for security, in the context of open data policies.

Work a work, which is an art and research project that explores the ongoing transformation of what is called “work” from a legal, technical, and cultural perspective, both regarding the artifacts of work, and work relations. (financed by the Swedish Research Council)
