About me
I hold a PhD in Psychology and am a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Special Education.
I am responsible for and teach the courses Development in and of Educational Learning Environments and The Societal Mission of Special Education. I also teach Didactic Conditions for Concept Development in Students with Intellectual Disabilitiesand Assessment of and for Knowledge Development in Adapted Schooling.
I supervise degree projects focusing on the quality of teaching and students’ development of concepts.
My research examines how students develop theoretical concepts and how teaching can be organised to enable this concept formation.
I work within the cultural-historical tradition, particularly the theory of learning activity developed by Daniil El’konin and Vasilij Davydov, where learning is understood as a process through which students develop theoretical thinking and, in doing so, consciousness and personality.
My research focuses in particular on modelling in teaching. I examine modelling as a central aspect of the teacher’s work in organising instruction for students’ development of theoretical concepts.
My current research addresses the following questions:
• Why does inclusive education require a reorganisation of instructional content?
• What characterises instructional content that enables the development of theoretical thinking for all students?
• How can multidisciplinary teacher teams contribute to developing such content?
