My research is focused on internal and international migration. Using individual survey and register data I map and analyze migration processes, spatial patterns, determinants and consequences. 
 

In my dissertation I especially studied re-migration, such as onward and return migration after an initial move, concentrating the analysis on Sweden as well as Senegal and Romania. Current projects relate to emigration from Norway, mobility patterns of Swedish speaking Finns, and unreported emigration events causing methodological bias when using register data (over-coverage).
