About me
As an anthropologist and ethnographic filmmaker, my academic interests have always been broad and trans-disciplinary in nature, covering both the social and natural sciences. Human-ecological relations and science and technology form the core of my research, and I hold a PhD and a Master’s in Social Anthropology (SU), as well as a Master’s in Palaeoanthropology and Palaeolithic Archaeology (UCL). My doctoral thesis Tracing Wolves: Materiality, Effect and Difference (SU, 2018), examines human-wolf interactions in Sweden, focusing upon the material practices and technological infrastructures via which wolves are monitored and controlled.
Aside
from conducting research and directing ethnographic films, I specialise in highly technical visual effects for live action miniatures and stop motion animation, working on feature films such as Chicken Run 1 and 2, and Vengeance Most Fowl, with Aardman Animations. My research interests lie in the areas of human-ecological relations, science and technology studies, archaeology and material and visual culture, and at Stockholm University I have taught Anthropology and Media, Gender and Sexuality, Anthropological Theory and Communication and Aesthetics.
