About me
I am a social worker, health care counselor, psychotherapist and associate professor of social work. My main research area is children's and young people's narratives, meaning-making and self-formation in relation to traumatic and stigmatizing life events. In my research, I investigate how children and young people narrate their experiences of losing a parent to suicide and of growing up with substance-dependent parents, their coping strategies and their need for social and professional support. In addition, I explore how interventions and cultural means, such as peer-suppport, workshops, theatre and film, can affect young people's meaning and identity formation and counteract stigmatising attitudes to social problems.
